S A L I Load Custom Paper In Manual Feed Slot
The computer at work copies, scans and accepts faxes just fine but when I go to print from microsoft word it asks for a manual paper feed, if manually fed it will print. What the heck? We want it to use the auto paper feed like it does every other time. I updated the drivers with no improvement.

This computer was riddled with viruses before I started working here maybe thats the problem I dont think so though.
Its not just mic word it does the same thing via int explorer print job.
NOTFIXED
You have to select try one instead of auto select in the paper option.
OK this worked for a day the same problem is back any advice?
FIXED Maybe

The front manual feed slot is open, but no paper is loaded. Load a sheet of paper in the front manual feed slot, and then press the Paper feed button. FRONT FEED SLOT OPEN. CLOSE THE FRONT MANUAL FEED SLOT. The front manual feed slot is opened during operation. Close the front manual feed slot by pushing it. FRONT FEED SLOT OPEN. Load the paper in portrait orientation (with the short edge toward the feed slot), with the print side face up. Paper cannot be loaded in landscape orientation. Insert the paper 3/8' to 3/4' (10 to 20 mm) into the manual feed slot, and then slide the paper guides inward until they are aligned securely against the edges of the paper. Jeremy - You're awesome. I just got a replacement paper roller and it didn't fix the problem (paper not feeding, computer thinking it's out of paper, manual feed working). Then I found this which fixed the problem. My son's printer is Brother HL 2270DW.
